(01)Overview

A custom restaurant ordering platform developed for a family-owned Indian and Punjabi restaurant in Brisbane. The system is focused on digital takeaway and dine-in ordering, menu management, customer convenience, and a streamlined online sales experience.

02The brief

A family-run Punjabi restaurant in Alexandra Hills wanted its own ordering channel for takeaway, delivery and dine-in, with menu and sales management in one place.

03The approach

A custom ordering and sales-management system with delivery-location logic, customer accounts and an installable app experience so regulars can reorder in two taps.

(05)Systems & hardware

Wired into the real counter, not just the website.

How stock, customers and sales are managed day to day — and the receipt and kitchen printers the system drives.

Stock & menu availability

  • Products with modifiers managed in the PS Dashboard
  • Sold-out switch for each item and each modifier
  • Menu availability tied to opening hours
  • Promotions with start and end dates

Customer management

  • Customer sign-in with saved delivery addresses
  • Driving-distance check on every address (free to 10 km, A$3/km beyond)
  • Order history and quick reorder for regulars
  • Order-status emails at every step

Sales management

  • Order dashboard with sound alerts and auto-print
  • Stripe card payments and cash orders tracked separately
  • Sales analytics: daily totals, best sellers, pickup vs delivery
  • Delivery fees, promotions and refunds reflected in reports

Receipt & kitchen printers

Network printers receive jobs straight from the website — Epson ePOS / Server Direct Print and Star CloudPRNT poll for new orders, so nothing breaks if a counter PC is off. USB printers print from the browser-based dashboard on the counter computer. Every ticket comes from a template with tokens (order number, type, time, items, modifiers, notes, totals, payment status), with auto-print on new orders, separate kitchen and customer copies, and one-click reprint. New orders trigger a sound alert in the dashboard and print automatically, so the kitchen starts cooking before anyone touches a screen.
